Malik English is the multi-talented artist, producer, & guitarist putting on for Brooklyn, NY. 2026 has been a strong year for Malik with sold out shows, performances alongside Rico Nasty & Jorjiana, playing guitar at SXSW & The Apollo Theater, and even having his music featured in campaigns with Converse, Neutrogena, & Alienware. For Malik, booked and busy is an understatement. But even with all of this motion, he’s still made time to work on his craft and deliver to us an amazing EP: “For Di Gyal Dem”.
The Nigerian and Trinidadian singer really puts his roots on display with this project. This EP is the perfect blend of Caribbean Dancehall and Afrobeats, all wrapped up in a smooth and sensual r&b bow. Malik himself says this project is a celebration of the Black Diaspora.

You may have already heard some of the project singles such as “Lonely Riddim” featuring SoDan, “Tek Time”, and most recently “Ariya”. These singles were the perfect preview into the EP. The project’s standout song “Hold Yuh” is a direct homage to Jamaica’s own Gyptian and his song of the same name. The song opens up with an almost Cuban salsa vibe, then dives right into that classic Dancehall sound. Malik took the ultra-popular Gyptian song, revamped it, and added his own twist.
Personally, the shining star for the album is “Too Obvious”. The Solo Wrld-featured song is just too smooth to not replay.
Malik English’s mix of deep vocals and high falsettos, combined with his confidence to experiment sonically makes “For Di Gyal Dem” a must-listen.
